I was all-in on Leiter mainly because I was trying to look at realistic options at #4. All indications are that Mayer is the best all-around player in the draft and he seems to have a great attitude. He'll take some time, but he should be a Top 5 player in the farm system almost immediately.

Chris Crawford (former Sox Outsider Podcast guest) told me yesterday he'd put Mayer ahead of Casas easily. I'm not sure that's my opinion yet, I'd like to see Mayer perform in the minors a bit before I do that, but I think there's a strong case he's a top 3 player in Boston's system right now.
