As there’s a cat asleep on my lap and a rule in my house that you aren’t allowed to get up if there’s a cat asleep on your lap even if it’s 1am (I’m going to have to look into changing this rule because it’s now 1am and I’m tired) I figured I’d take the opportunity to drop you all a quick note on Sox Outsider, what you can expect going forward, and something new and exciting that I’m working on for the newsletter.
First, topics. I’ve got a huge list of topics I want to write about, but it occurs to me that you might have some topics you’d like to read about. If so, please let me know, and the best way to do that is just to drop your thoughts in the comments section below. It could be Rafael Devers, pitching prospects, Devers, Red Sox history, Devers, Alex Cora, Devers, Devers, or whatever you want to talk about, I’d love to hear your thoughts. Goes as well if you have thoughts on any particular piece I’ve written. Definitely don’t be a stranger. I’d love to hear from you.
The other thing is the Sox Outsider podcast. I’ve been working on getting that going and I’m hopeful it will launch soon. Just this weekend I recorded some intro music. I played it for my wife and she made a face like the cat farted, so I can check that off the ol’ list. More importantly, I sat down and recorded a practice episode. That is, I talked Red Sox to myself for a half hour, which consisted of me complaining about the starting pitching and trying not to say “um”, all while trying to make it sound slightly less like I’m recording from a cathedral. Working out the kinks is what the pros call it so I’ll have to call it something else, but things are coming along here and I can’t wait to share it with you.
Lastly, Sox Outsider has been up and running for almost a month now and I hope you’re enjoying reading it as much as I’m enjoying writing it. I’ve had a few people reach out to me and tell me they are digging it, so that’s been gratifying to hear. If that was you, thanks, and if it wasn’t but you have been reading and enjoying it, also thanks! And if you’re new here, thanks for reading this far! No matter who you are, if you’re reading these words, I thank you and wish you a happy and healthy new year.
I promise the next intrusion into your in-box will be a lot less about me and my newsletter and a lot more about the Boston Red Sox. Until then, Happy New Year, friends!

What did Cora learn for his year , how bad is the pitching, is Bradley coming back even possible, would the Sox even have the prospects to challenge Padres moves , and should the Sox be in money battles over Asian prospects? Off the top of my head
